Equal Opportunity Employer
The City of Fitchburg is an equal opportunity employer that strives to be a diverse workforce that is representative of the community in which we serve.
Diversity, Equity and Inclusion Initiatives
In 2020, a team of employees from various departments with a passion of diversifying our workforce and ensuring principles of inclusion and equity are infused into everything we do at the City was formed. The employee resource group (ERG) wanted all of those we encounter to feel they belong, are welcomed, respected and heard. Recent accomplishments include and are not limited to creating the City's Bilingual Incentive policy and procedure that rewards those who are bilingual; adding Juneteenth as a recognized City holiday and the addition of the Trainee designation in the Employee Handbook which allows for us to hire and train into positions that lack qualified candidates.
