In January 2012 the City of Fitchburg adopted a master plan for McGaw Park, one of two Fitchburg community parks. A park master plan is a guide for future park use and facility improvements and serves as a long-term vision for the park.
Information about the McGaw Park Master Plan
The McGaw Park Master Plan of 2012, which was crafted by public input, instructs the City of Fitchburg to develop and implement a woodlot management plan in the near term (1-5 years). City staff has begun this planning process and once again is seeking public input from Fitchburg residents. The guidelines for managing McGaw's woodlot will be laid out though the creation of the McGaw Park Natural Resources Management Plan.
The first open house and public meeting on the McGaw Park Natural Resources Management Plan is scheduled for
6:30 pm on Thursday, December 3rd 2015 in the Fitchburg Room of the Fitchburg Community Center, 5510 Lacy Road. The main presentation will begin at 7:00pm, followed a formal public dialog session for feedback.
