This community market, launched in 1996, has been steadily growing in size, diversity and following ever since. Located under the iconic Agora Pavilion, shoppers can stroll through the abundance of each season’s color and vibrancy. Visit with neighbors and friends while enjoying the beautiful prairie and pond setting. The market draws an average of 25 vendors from all over Southern Wisconsin selling everything from produce to flowers to baked goods and more. Watch for special events on the third Thursday of each month featuring local charities, demonstrations and live music.

Craft your own underwater habitat! Use your imagination to create your own unique coral reef complete with sea creatures. Ages 2-5

A 30-minute storytime for preschool age children who are able to sit through longer stories and participate in more advanced activities. Featuring songs, stories and movement activities. (Ages 2-5)
Come to the Fitchburg Library and explore the Dane County Trash Lab! Created by the Dane County Department of Waste & Renewables in collaboration with Madison Children’s Museum, the Trash Lab is a mobile exhibit designed to educate and motivate us to create less trash and rethink our relationship with waste.
Housed in a fully accessible, 27-foot-long repurposed cargo trailer, Trash Lab features more than 10 playful interactive stations, engaging stories, and a wealth of data, along with compelling photography and video footage. The exhibit’s whimsical exterior and immersive interior environment will capture visitors’ imaginations.

ARGH, Fitchburg Readers! Learn to decode secret messages in a bottle and write your own message for another to decipher. Readers age 9-12 are invited to challenge their decoding skills.
Come to the Fitchburg Library and participate in a drum circle with Elmore Lawson! Learn the basics of drumming and how to participate in a drum circle, including rhythms, chants, call and response, and solo phrases. We will focus on songs from African, South American, Asian, and Native American cultures. The playful, expressive, and energetic environment is perfect for all levels of experience!
